I see it everywhere and it makes me want to scream!!!
At the library
At the playground
At the children’s museum
Parents and caregivers with their faces in their phones instead of spending quality time with their children. What could be so important? What could possibly be more important than spending quality time with your child?
OK, so I don’t have kids of my own, but I do have a mother, a father, and a brother who are no longer with me. They are gone forever, and there is nothing I can do to spend one more minute with them. Never again will I feel one more hug, hear one more laugh, see one more smile. And believe me, I would do just about anything if I could.
Make no mistake about it, tragedy and death are not reserved for the elderly. It can happen at any time to any one of us, no matter what your age is.
So think about putting down that phone, iPad or whatever other gadget you are carrying around with you and take some quality time with the ones you love. Read to your children, play with them, laugh with them. I know it sounds like a cliché, but time is shorter than you think.
