When this pandemic first started, I thought it would last for only a few months. Let’s be honest, I think we all did. But now, nine months later I have finally faced the reality that it has made a permanent change in my life. As a professional speaker who craves being in front of an audience, I have to accept the fact that I don’t know when that will be possible again. I mourn the loss of something that I have worked so hard to achieve, and it is now time to shift my focus to something new.
Wondering what that is? Well, a few years ago, I started writing a book. However, I became so busy with my speaking engagements that I put that project on the back burner. Now I have decided to dust off those pages, seek some help, and finish it. I have no dreams of becoming the next Eat Pray Love phenomenon, yet I do want to share my lessons learned and hope I can help a few people along the way.
So, instead of writing weekly blogs, I will now focus on finishing my book. With that in mind, this will be my last blog post. I thank all of you who have followed me and commented along the way. You have been my support and my life saver when I wanted to give up. And if you have enjoyed reading my blogs, please know that this is my 284th post. Can you believe it? I’d like to leave you with one thought:
Like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, keep you eye on your goal, your dream. If you look closely, you can even see it in the distance. And when the road gets a little foggy and a bit scary, just keep putting one foot in front of the other. And remember, you already have the strength inside of you. Never, ever doubt that for a moment.
